Ciao Bella!
Summertime calls for an all-time favourite summer recipe. And what is more suited then fresh burrata with tomatoes and basil. Below Johanna shares her favourite recipe of a burrata dish.
If you like mozzarella, ricotta, and fresh, creamy cheeses in general, burrata is a treat waiting for you. Burrata is a fresh Italian cheese, creamy and tasty.
A fun fact; burrata is originally from Puglia and means “buttery” in Italian.
200 g tomatoes 2 tsp olive oil
4 sprigs of fresh thyme 1 burrata
4 cloves of garlic Fresh basil
Pepper and salt
Preheat the oven to 180°C and cover the baking tray with baking paper. Remove the crowns from the cherry tomatoes and wash them under the tap, let them drain afterwards.
Place the cherry tomatoes on the baking tray and sprinkle the thyme leaves over them. Sprinkle the cherry tomatoes with pepper, salt and olive oil and place the crushed garlic cloves between the tomatoes.
Roast the cherry tomatoes for 40 minutes until they are soft and slightly sticky.
Carefully place the burrata on a plate and add the roasted cherry tomatoes and garlic cloves. Drizzle the dish with some extra virgin olive oil and tear fresh basil over it.
Finish the dish with a bit of extra pepper if desired.
In no time you have brought Italy to your own home! Of course you can choose serving a fresh ciabatta with it. Combine the dish with a lovely glass of wine and "la dolce vita" can begin.
